Carolinas College of Health Sciences Viewbook Design
Carolinas College of Health Sciences (CCHS) view book was outdated and in need of a complete redesign. President Hampton Hopkins wanted an innovative and creative recruitment approach that married the best of healthcare and higher education while also leveraging opportunities to speak to prospective students online. To begin, km design conducted discovery interviews on campus with both students and faculty to better understand the CCHS brand and how to tell the College’s story in the most compelling way possible.
Drawing from these interviews, km design developed the view book theme: The Anatomy of an Interactive Education — which was enthusiastically embraced by Hopkins and the admissions team. Next steps included copywriting and design for the 12-page book. km design directed a daylong photo shoot which included the cover shot taken at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, various campus shots and an off-campus, lifestyle shot of several students relaxing at a local East Blvd. restaurant.
Once the print version was completed, km design began work on the interactive view book which includes realistic page turning, links to the CCHS website as well as several embedded videos.
