Could your publications use a facelift?

It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch. Belated Happy New Year! Hope you’re as excited about what lies ahead in 2018 as I am!

The second half of 2017 was super busy for me. I had the opportunity to work with more higher education clients including Belmont Abbey College and UNC Pembroke. And in the midst of working on some great projects, I’ve found a new passion… publication design.

I just finished the third issue of the redesigned Carolinas College of Health Sciences Alumni Magazine. From brainstorming with the client during preliminary content meetings to art directing photoshoots to exploring different layout solutions throughout the 32-pg publication, I’m hooked!

Here’s what my client, Ruthie Mihal, Manager of Alumni Relations & Development at CCHS, had to say about the experience:

“In 2017 we decided to take our alumni magazine to the next level and began our search for a new designer. It was recommended to me that we ask Karen to tackle the redesign and all editions moving forward. Wow – am I glad we did! The magazine has a completely new feel and level of professionalism – and each edition just keeps getting better.

I think one of Karen’s strongest assets is that she truly listens to her clients. Of course, we met prior to the first redesign to share our overall vision, but we also meet after each edition to debrief and plan for the next one. She listens to any suggestions or areas that we’d like adjusted and also shares her thoughts and suggestions from a design perspective.

I highly recommend Karen McElmoyle for any graphic design projects. She is great!”

So, do you have projects (publications, annual reports, view books, websites, brochures or direct mail campaigns) that you want taken to the next level? Let’s talk. I’ve got immediate availability and am booking work through the spring.
